Photography is about more than the final image. People often ask about the places, the process, prints, licensing, and the philosophy behind my work. This page answers the questions I receive most frequently.
PHOTO GRAPHS
Where were the photographs taken?
The photographs were taken in different places around the world, including Norway, Scotland, Cappadocia, Patagonia, Portugal, the Alps (Austria, Switzerland and Bavaria), the western United States (Utah, Arizona and California), Madeira, Spain, the Faroe Islands and Iceland.
What kind of conditions do you shoot in?
Almost never. I prefer to stay mobile and let the light guide me rather than waiting at a single spot. I also enjoy working with fast lenses and wide apertures, even in landscape photography, to create a more intimate atmosphere. For me, photography is less about technical perfection and more about capturing the feeling of a place.
Do you use a tripod?
Almost never. I prefer to stay mobile and let the light guide me rather than waiting at a single spot. I also enjoy working with fast lenses and wide apertures, even in landscape photography, to create a more intimate atmosphere. For me, photography is less about technical perfection and more about capturing the feeling of a place.
Do you travel with a plan or follow the weather/light?
It’s a mix. Before a trip, I check the weather and try to get a sense of when the light might be good. Once I’m out there, I often end up changing plans depending on the light, sometimes even turning around if conditions shift quickly.
What equipment do you use?
I shoot with a Canon R6 Mark II, mainly using an RF 35mm f1.4 and an EF 70–200 mm f4, which make up most of my work. For wider scenes I sometimes use an EF 16–35 mm f4, and for longer focal lengths a Sigma 150–600 mm Contemporary, though both are used less frequently.
ABOUT ME
How did you become a landscape photographer?
In 2018 I took my first trip to Scotland and bought a DSLR to capture some travel memories. I still remember standing at a loch Linnhe for the first time. Rain, waterfalls everywhere, Glencoe in that kind of weather I had never experienced before. Later places like the Old Man of Storr followed, and I slowly got more and more into photographing landscapes.
Which countries have influenced your photography the most?
Besides Scotland, two places stand out for me: northern Norway during the midnight sun, where the light feels completely different, and the southwestern United States, where I discovered my love for desert landscapes.
What role does nature play in your work?
Most of my work is landscape photography. I support environmental causes through donations from my income. On my travels I’ve seen how fragile some places actually are, especially in Iceland, the Alps, or desert-like landscapes such as Cappadocia, where erosion and heavy foot traffic leave visible traces over time.
Do you reveal the exact locations?
Some locations are shared, especially well-known and widely documented spots. More remote or sensitive places are not disclosed in detail to help protect them.
Yes. Selected images are available for editorial and commercial use. Just get in touch via email with your project details and intended use. I’ll get back to you with a tailored licensing offer.
What kind of images are available?
My portfolio includes landscape photography from places such as Bavaria, the Dolomites, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Cappadocia, Madeira, Northern Norway, Austria, Patagonia, Portugal, Scotland, Switzerland, Spain and the United States. An overview can be found on my Instagram.
What types of licenses are available?
Licensing depends on the specific use, reach, duration and distribution (online, print or both). Each request is handled individually.
